Lightning protection up to 525 Joules
With a Joule rating of up to 525, this lightning protection extension is designed to protect home and office electronic equipment from damage caused by voltage fluctuations, surges, and lightning. Extra large metal oxide varistors (MOVs) absorb excess electricity and release it as heat. If a large surge occurs and the MOV catches fire, the fiberglass MOV protective cover will contain or smother the fire.
