Synology® DVA1622 provides AI-driven video surveillance systems for homes and small businesses
Taipei, Taiwan—June 1, 2022—Synology today announced the launch of deep learning NVR DVA1622 , extends the successful deep learning network camera product line and provides a solution for small deployments. Synology previously launched a model with four hard drive bays DVA3221 , provides small and medium-sized enterprises with AI-driven monitoring systems. The new dual hard drive slot DVA1622 brings artificial intelligence analysis functions, such as facial recognition, to small businesses and families for the first time.
Tailor-made solutions for local use
The DVA1622 allows users such as households and store owners to benefit from up to two simultaneous intelligent analysis tasks and monitor up to 16 cameras in the smallest space. Not only that, the DVA1622 can support up to 16 split HDMI outputs through one screen, and can be controlled locally through two USB ports, so there is no need to use a PC to monitor and manage the deployment.
"The DVA1622 is specially designed to meet the needs of small and home users. It can be used with a monitor, mouse and keyboard as a versatile stand-alone monitoring solution," said Tony Lin, Product Manager of Synology Surveillance Systems.
More than just threat detection
Deep learning image analysis (DVA) missions enhance security by continuously detecting programmed threats. These tasks can also provide more accurate and filtered alerts to reduce the workload of security systems. For example, only notify the user of the movement of people or cars. Deep learning analysis can help automate site management, such as identifying authorized personnel or calculating space usage, and can also generate statistics and other useful information.
Strengthen your home's security
Prompt alerts are critical to preventing break-ins. With one or two DVA tasks, homeowners can adapt their home surveillance from simple CCTV recording to a proactive threat detection system that will alert them when suspicious activity is detected.
Many homes have gardens, driveways, sheds and sub-roofs that are more susceptible to break-in by thieves. However, if you set up motion detection in an open area, you may receive many false notifications because animals, delivery people, and other factors can also trigger alarms.
The DVA1622 supports intrusion detection, which correctly identifies when a person or vehicle crosses a preset boundary, such as the top of a fence, and at which location. People and Vehicle Detection scans a feed of people or cars and sends alerts when these people enter or stay in an area for a certain amount of time.
Small retail and accommodation
Surveillance systems not only help keep your business safe but also manage your premises more efficiently. The DVA function can automatically identify people who are prohibited from entering the building, ensure that only staff enter restricted areas, protect occupancy restrictions and prevent unauthorized vehicles from entering private parking lots.
Facial recognition helps businesses build visitor and employee databases and automatically identify visitors who need special attention or non-staff entering restricted areas. People counting can be used to calculate the number of visitors and overall building occupancy. Congestion alerts can alert on-site staff when too many people gather in a designated area. With the license plate recognition function, DVA1622 will alert the car owner when a vehicle that does not belong to a member or employee enters the parking lot.
Security monitoring system ecosystem
DVA1622 equipped with Surveillance Station 9.0 Image management system, providing the latest and best surveillance systems. It supports more than 8,300 new and old camera models, and more that are ONVIF compliant, making it easier to migrate from other solutions. A simple setup wizard automatically configures it to get you up and running in no time. Surveillance Station further provides integration with I/O modules, audio systems, access controllers and other surveillance devices to establish interactivity with security systems and other Synology systems.
With automatic backup to Synology NAS and dual recording (from IP camera to second device or using C2 monitoring . With footage and device encryption, HTTPS and SRTP support, time-limited watermarking, and integrity verification tools, it's easy to protect your image recordings from theft, intrusion, or unauthorized use.
Need the DVA1622 as part of a larger deployment? Using Surveillance Station Centralized management system (CMS), hundreds of Synology DVA, NVR, and NAS devices can be managed, operated, updated, and protected through a central management server. Process images at the edge while remotely controlling and maintaining your service systems through a powerful console.
