Capacity expansion & backup

When the storage capacity of Synology RackStation is insufficient, Synology RX1217/RX1217RP provides 12 additional hard drive slots, allowing you to solve the problem easily and quickly. The RAID storage space originally configured on Synology RackStation can be directly expanded without reformatting the existing disks, so the server can continue to provide services during the expansion process. To ensure uninterrupted service throughout the year, Synology RX1217RP is equipped with a redundant power supply to support automatic failover. Even if one of the power supplies fails, service can still continue.

Synology RX1217/RX1217RP can be created as an independent storage space and used as an additional local backup destination for Synology RackStation.

Reliable plug-and-play design

Synology RX1217/RX1217RP can stably connect to the Synology RackStation server through a high-speed expansion cable to ensure optimal access performance. Applications are as smooth as directly using the Synology RackStation internal hard drive. Synology RX1217/RX1217RP supports SATA 6Gb/s interface, allowing the hard drive installed in it to maximize performance and provide excellent data transfer performance.

Energy saving, environmental protection, easy management

Hibernation mode allows you to manually set how long the hard drive should go to sleep after stopping access, which not only saves a lot of energy, but also extends the life of the hard drive; and RX1217/RX1217RP will automatically turn on/off with the connected RackStation, no need to use Operated by users, the system can operate efficiently and intelligently.
